Tamshui
Line

The Tamshui
Line began revenue on March 28,1997. Trains set out
on their south bound journey from Tamshui along the
right of way of the old Tamshui-Taipei railroad,
and then at grade or elevated level through Peitou,
Shihlin and Yuanshan before running underground to
Taipei main station . Along the 22.8-kilometer
route are 20 stops and the Peitou maintenance
depot.Most of the stations along the Tamshui Line
are built in traditional Chinese architectural
style. Passengers from Tamshui take only 31 minutes
to reach Taipei main station.Transfer to
Nankang-Panchiao Line can be made at Taipei main
station.

Mucha Line
|
The first of
the TRTS to go into revenue service was the Mucha
Line which began operation on March 28,1996.Trains
run on elevated tracks from the Taipei City Zoo in
Mucha district, through Wanfang Community and then
through tunnels in the Fuchou Hill Region to Hoping
East Road, and along Fuhsing N&S Road to
Chungshan Middle School. Along the 10.9km route are
12 stations and a maintenance depot. Meanwhile,
DORTS is analyzing socioeconomic and construction
factors on the Neihu Line before making its final
decision on the route and the appropriate type of
system to be adopted.Transfer to Nankang-Panchiao
Line can be made at Chunghsiao Fuhsing station.

Chungho
Line
|
The Chungho
Line which began operation on December 24,1998bAN
takes an underground route from Nanshih Chiao along
Chingshin Road, Chungho Road and Yungho Road, and
under the Hsintien River to Taipei City before
joining the Hsintien Line. Its 5.4 km route will
includes four stations and a stabling
yard.

Hsintien
Line
|
The Hsintien
Line which began operation on November 11,1999
joins the Tamshui Line at NTU Hopital and runs
south along Kungyuan Road, Roosevelt Road, and
Peihsin Road to Hsintien. Its 10.3 km route
includes eleven underground stations and a stabling
yard.

Nankang
Line
|
The Nankang
Line will also run underground from Kunyang station
in the east side of Taipei, passing the City Hall
and Sun YatSen Memorial Hall, and along Chunghsiao
Road and Chunghua Road to Hsimen station.Its 10.3km
route will include 11 stations and a stabling yard.
Part of the Nankang Line,from Taipei city Hall
station to Hsimen station connected to the Panchiao
Line,began operation on December 24,1999.

Panchiao
Line
|
The Panchiao
Line will take a subterranean route along Chunghua
Road to Hoping West Road, under the Hsintien River,
and continue along Wenhua Road to Panchiao station.
An extension from this line will run along Nanya
South Road and Chungyang Road to Tucheng. It's 12.6
km route will include nine stations and a
maintenance depot. Part of the Panchiao Line from
Lungshan Temple station to Hsimen station connected
to the Nankang Line,began operation on December
24,1999; from Lungchan Temple station to Hsinpu
station began operation on August
31,2000.
